The idea of an afterlife is almost impossible to prove or disprove. It’s a fairy tale for people who don’t have any hope in life. Spiritualists are interesting people because they don’t have any proof that their god exists. They are being very subjective when they believe that their god is real.

On the other hand, atheists are very objective when they believe that their god doesn’t exist. While both sides are better than no one, they are not better than an objective mindset which can be proven by evidence.
